Leah Rachel Filardi has recently joined IIT as a post-doc in Dr. Camilla Coletti's 2D Materials Engineering lab. In 2023, she received her PhD from the University of California - Davis in Chemical Engineering, where her work focused on the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials for application as methane conversion catalysts. She was also appointed to Instrument Manager of the College of Engineering's XPS/UPS instrument, assisting users across the college in data collection and analysis as well as maintaining functional operation of the instrument. Her present research leverages her experience with materials synthesis and characterization to study the scalability of growth and transfer of twisted multi-layer graphene materials.
